The Acer One 10 S1002-145A 2-in-1 / S1002-17FR 2-in-1 is yet another affordable convertible PC with a 10.1” touchscreen and detachable keyboard.

The main difference between the S1002-145A and S1002-17FR is software. The first model runs Windows 10 operating system and is listed with Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, and One Note Microsoft Office apps. The second and discontinued one runs old Windows 8.1 and comes with a free 1-year subscription for full Office 365 Personal package.

The core specifications – processor, RAM, storage, and display resolution, are on a par with those of the more popular Asus Transformer Book T100TAF and HP Pavilion x2. The Acer One 10 S1002-145A 2-in-1 / S1002-17FR 2-in-1 stands out with extremely cheap current price of just $200. With that price tag it competes directly against very similar Nextbook Flexx 10 by a less known firm called E-Fun. Furthermore, the device – particularly the Windows 10-based model – will be on sale during Black Friday at Best Buy. It’ll cost only $129.99 then.

Under the hood, the tablet portion of the device includes the Intel Atom Z3735F entry-level quad-core processor, which is among the most basic CPUs you can find in PCs today. Still, it can handle your daily chores well, such as web browsing, email checking, work in Word and Excel apps, or media playback. RAM size of 2GB is quite small by today’s standards, but at least it’s not just 1GB you can find in select similar devices. Storage is on the small side, too. There’s only 32GB on the built-in eMMC drive, with around half of it occupied by Windows 8.1 operating system itself.

The screen features 1,280-by-800-pixel resolution, which isn’t an exceptionally sharp one, but is standard on this type of the device. Luckily, Acer has provided IPS technology, so you can expect very wide viewing angles.

Alongside stereo speakers, 2MP front and rear cameras, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the tablet part of the device features a micro HDMI video output port, micro USB port, microSD media card reader, and a combo audio jack. Besides the keyboard with trackpad, the dock includes a full-size USB port.

The included 2-cell battery with a capacity of 8,400mAh, but we have no info on battery life.

The S1002-145A 2-in-1 will be on sale for just $129.99 November 26.-28., 2015 as a part of 2015 Black Friday event at Best Buy.
