Description

The Nextbook Flexx NXW116QC264, also known as Flexx 11, is an affordable 2-in-1 tablet / laptop hybrid with an 11.6-inch display and a price tag of around $230. The screen with 1366-by-768-pixel resolution, multi-touch input support, and IPS technology for wide viewing angles is accompanied by a detachable keyboard. The tablet and keyboard form a portable laptop-like device with a capability to be used in a “tent” multimedia mode, a weight of “less than four pounds”, and thickness of 0.7″.

The tablet portion packs an entry-level Intel Atom Z3735F Bay Trail quad-core processor, 2 Gigabytes of system memory, and 64GB of internal storage. The Z3735F provides smooth web browsing, multimedia playback, and basic gaming, as well decent performance for the usual productivity tasks, like essay writing or spreadsheet calculations. For comfortable multitasking under Windows 8.1 OS 4GB or more RAM is recommended, but the included 2GB can be enough if you don’t run too many programs and browser tabs at the same time. 64GB of eMMC storage isn’t capacious, but its still better than 32GB you can find in similarly priced alternatives. Additionally, you can put in the Nextbook Flexx NXW116QC264 a microSD card to expand storage. Supported microSD capacity is up to 64GB.

The tablet also contains front and rear cameras with 2MP sensors on both, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connections, a micro HDMI video output, headphones jack, built-in microphone, micro USB port, and a dedicated power jack. We have no info on the speaker system of the Nextbook Flexx NXW116QC264 nor battery life provided by the included 9,000 mAh unit.

The keyboard dock additionally provides two full-size USB 2.0 ports, but the most interesting part of it is an innovative backlight solution. Instead of backlight under each key, blue illuminated area surrounding the keys helps you with typing in dim environments. The keyboard part also has a multi-touch trackpad on it.

For those on an extremely tight budget, there’s a smaller 10-inch version of the Flexx available, with less storage space and no keyboard backlight, but with Microsoft Office 365 Personal 1-year subscription included.

  1. The system works well for simple tasks like spreadsheets and word documents. Netflix works well. My only issue is that the screen now has a hugh black mark that is visible when the screen is white. I’m afraid it is going to get worse

  2. I own this. It’s slow as hell! Needs more RAM but sadly it isn’t expandable. Keyboard is junk. The other features are OK, yet they are credited to Windows more so than the tablet itself. I would look elsewhere, or even go with a cheap laptop — you’ll get more for your money albeit without the tablet functionality (touch screen and detachable keyboard). I do not recommend this product. Good luck.

  3. This tablet is great if you just want something small to do work on or pay bills. The sound is virtually non existent you have to use headphones to hear it. I tried connecting it to my tv with an HDMI core it worked for a few days and then the HDMI port stopped working with the cord. I got a new cord and the same thing you would have to wiggle the cord around to get it to work and then it would still come disconnected.

  4. I have replaced my flexx book this will be the 2nd time it will not charge or turn on it acts like it is charged but will not turn on it is JUNK

  5. I am honestly blown away to see these negative reviews on this tablet/laptop! I purchased mine over a year ago just for something in expense to take on hikes. Audio is a bit low, yes. BUT, when my Sony Vaio blew, I set up this Nextbook on my desk, attached keyboard (which has two full size USB ports!) and discovered it converts into one AWESOME LAPTOP! Nice sturdy keyboard, great keys, which really helps when spending hours working. Nope, definitely not the best if using in tablet mode, but a dandy little laptop! Even has an icon for switching between tablet and computer modes…

  6. I really like my tablet. I have had it for over a year. The speaker sound is really low but that’s not a big problem for me. I use mine all the time for school. It is light weight and works well seeing as I carry it with me a lot. Plus I got it on sale for $54 along with the 10 inch version for $45, so I think it was a great buy.

  7. Battery completely dies after about almost a year of purchase, then you need to replace the whole battery. F……. sucks!!!! And netbook does not even sell parts, which is total bullshit!!!!!!.

  8. I don’t get the micro-USB in the tablet to work. The ports in the kbpart are OK. Port is connected (+ 5V present) but no reaction on anything connected

    • I need batteries for my laptop and cannot find them online. Have you found were to purchase them?
